This policy explains what personal data MineList collects, why we do it and what rights you have. We keep the data to the minimum needed to run the service.
Who is responsible
The operator of MineList and the data controller is Jan Neckář. You can contact him at info@minelist.eu.
Data we process
- Account data. If you register as a server owner, we store your e-mail address, your nick and a password hash. We never store the password itself.
- Votes. When you vote, we store the Minecraft nick, the edition (Java or Bedrock), the player UUID if Mojang or GeyserMC knows the name, your IP address and the time of the vote. We need them to allow one vote per server per day and to stop cheating. The full IP address is kept for 48 hours. After that we keep only a pseudonymised fingerprint of the connection, made with a secret key; it is still personal data and we delete it after 35 days. Vote records without the IP address are deleted after 13 months.
- Name check. To check that a nick exists, we send it to Mojang (Java) or GeyserMC (Bedrock). We do not send them your IP address. If Mojang does not answer, the vote counts in the ranking only after the name has been checked later.
- Reminders. If you turn on vote reminders, we store the push address your browser gives us, the server, your nick and language. Reminders are deleted when you turn them off, when your browser cancels them, or 30 days after the last reminder.
- Server data. Listed servers are pinged regularly and their public status, such as players online and version, is published on the site. This is public information about a server, not about a person.
- Player heads. Pictures of player heads on leaderboards are loaded from minotar.net, which therefore receives your IP address and browser data when you view those pages.
- Technical logs. Our server and Cloudflare keep short-term logs with IP addresses for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies and similar technologies
- A session cookie that keeps you logged in and protects forms. It is necessary for the service.
- A cookie with your Minecraft nick, set only if you tick Remember my nick when voting. It is deleted when you vote without the box ticked.
- Google Analytics 4 for anonymous traffic statistics, used only with your consent. On vote pages we never send your nick to Analytics.
- Google AdSense for advertising, used only with your consent. Google may set its own cookies for ad personalization.
- Cloudflare Turnstile, an anti-bot check that runs when you vote or sign in. Cloudflare processes technical data about your browser as our processor under the Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting cookies in your browser.
Why we may process the data
Account and vote data are processed to provide the service you asked for and for our legitimate interest in preventing abuse. Reminders are sent only after you turn them on. Analytics and advertising cookies are used only on the basis of your consent.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. It is shared only with service providers needed to run the site, such as hosting, Cloudflare, Google Analytics, Google AdSense and the push services of your browser, and with authorities when the law requires it.
When you vote, the server you voted for receives your nick, UUID, edition, IP address and the time of the vote, through NuVotifier, a webhook or the API, so that it can give you the reward. The server owner may also announce your nick in their Discord channel. Each server is responsible for how it uses this data.
Public leaderboards
Nicks of players who vote, with their number of votes, streaks and player rank, appear on public leaderboards on MineList and in the API for server owners. IP addresses are never shown. If you want to be hidden from the leaderboards, write to info@minelist.eu.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to its processing and receive it in a portable form. Write to info@minelist.eu and include the nick or e-mail address concerned. We will answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to your national data protection authority.
Children
Many Minecraft players are young. We do not ask for more than a nick to vote, and we do not knowingly collect other data from children without a parent's consent.
Changes
We may update this policy when the service changes. The current version is always available on this page.
